Resistor board

A small project. For an envelop feeder, there was a need for six pull-up resistors. The problem was that it was difficult and awkward to mount them reliable in the control cabinet. This could be improved by creating a board with screw terminals for mounting these resistors more easy. The customer asked our help for this. The complete specifications (size, position of the mounting holes, conformal coating, silkscreen text, value and power rating of the resistors, spacers, screw terminal) were stipulated together with the customer. These boards are manufactured in batches of 25 pieces. This is the result.

Thyristor and diode tester

For the induction furnaces for melting cast iron, there are used big power thyristors and diodes (up to kilovolts and kilo ampéres). Sometimes a thyristor or diode malfunction. None of the common testers on the market are suitable to test them. This because the hold current are in the range of ampéres. Peternet Electronics designed the solution.

Except thyristors, also diodes can be tested with it. A display shows the test results. You don't have to know where the gate, anode and kathode is. You can connect the test leads random. The tester find out which probes are connected which terminals, and display it also. The more common thyristors can also be tested. We have choosed a PIC16F874 microcontroller for controlling the unit.
